Wax Melt Safety
Safety Notes
Like you, we love nothing more than lighting our burners and getting cosy under a thick blanket curled up on the sofa, at 143 Scents we want to make sure you do so safely and strongly advise all our customers to read the following important information.
- Always start with a clean ceramic burner. We highly recommend using a burner designed for wax, not oil burners. Remove all previous wax.
- Place 1-2 portions of wax in the well of your burner depending on the size of your dish. Do not over fill your wax burner as this could create a spillage causing damage to surrounding surfaces and furniture and potentially cause a fire.
- Place your burner on a heat proof surface.
- Only use good quality unscented tealights with a maximum burn time of 4 hours and let your burner cool down before relighting a further tealight. We do not reccomend 8 hour tealights.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Do not place burner in way of a draught.
- Keep well away from curtains and flammable objects.
- Do not move burner whilst lit.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Dispose of wax carefully and never pour wax down a sink or the toilet.
- Replace your burner if cracks and / or chips appear.
- Always ensure your burner is completely dry when using.
- Ensure no water ever comes in contact with your wax.
